Every custom home we build starts with what you want. Your floor plan, your finishes, your priorities. We do not have a catalog of plans to pick from. We sit down with you, figure out what you are trying to build, and we put together a scope that reflects that. What you decide is what we build.
No cookie-cutter layouts. No developer-grade materials unless that is what you want. We build to the standard you set.
Building a custom home in the Texas Hill Country is different from building in a subdivision. There is no developer, no preset floor plan, and no list of upgrade options to choose from. You own the land and you decide what gets built on it. Hill Country Building & Renovation has been a custom home builder in the Texas Hill Country for over 40 years. This is what we do and this is where we live.
Custom homes in the Hill Country come with site conditions that builders who work in subdivisions are not used to. Rocky terrain, caliche, elevation changes, septic systems, well water, long driveways before you reach the build site. We have been handling all of it for 40 years. We know what to expect and we know how to price it honestly from the start.

Before any work starts, you get a written contract with a locked-in price. The number we quote at the beginning is the number you pay at the end. That has been our way of doing business for over 40 years and it is not going to change.
We handle every phase of the build. Site prep, foundation, framing, roofing, mechanical, finish work. Every trade, every inspection, every county permit. You do not have to manage any of that separately.
We give every custom home client three options for how we structure the project. Before any work starts, you get a written contract with a locked-in price that does not change.
We handle everything from breaking ground to the day you get the keys. Every phase is on us. You show up when it is done.
We build the structure, run all the rough-in work, and take it through textured drywall. You handle the interior finish and save on labor.
We handle the heavy lifting and you take on whatever interior work makes sense. We build a scope around what you want to do yourself.
Where We Build
HCBR Texas builds custom homes throughout the Texas Hill Country, including these communities and everywhere in between.
We come look at your land and give you a written price that does not change. From our family to yours.
Start the conversationEither way works. If you have plans, we build from them. If you have ideas but no plans, we help you get to a buildable design. The home is built to your specs, not a catalog plan.
It varies with size, finish, and the site. Rocky terrain, long driveways, wells, and septic all factor in. We assess your land before we quote, and the written price we give you does not change.
Yes. Our sweat equity option lets you finish the interior yourself after we take the structure through textured drywall. It can save a significant amount on a custom home.
Yes. We coordinate site work, septic, well access, and all county permitting as part of the build, so you are not managing those separately.
